Applications

Abrasive sheets, often called sandpaper or glasspaper, can be used by hand, with sanding blocks and even appropriate power tools. As such, they are suitable for fine and general sanding applications. Abrasive sheets are typically used for preparing surfaces, such as wood or old paint, for repainting, varnishing or other treatments. They can also be used for polishing and buffing applications.

What is wet sanding?

Some sandpaper can be used wet. The sandpaper is either sprayed with water or soaked prior to use. This has a number of benefits including reducing the dust generated and also improving the quality of the finish. Wet sanding is often used on vehicles to provide the smoothest possible surface before they are resprayed.
