DVI connectors are still very commonly used in personal computers, and are often found even in more modern graphics cards. However, DVI-A ports are very rare. DVI-A cables can be used with DVI-I interfaces, and will exclusively transmit the analog signals. VGA monitors are also still commonly used. A: Yes, this adapter works in both directions and fully support a connection between HDMI - DVI and DVI - HDMI.


Q: Does this cable transfer an audio signal from a source to projector or monitor?
A: A typical HDMI cable is able to transfer an audio signal, however as this is an adapter from HDMI to DVI, its unable to transfer such signal. DVI ports do not feature such an option. Audio has to be transferred separately using an optional connection.
