A three-function valve is included with the filter. Once the opening pressure is attained, a forward bypass valve lets unfiltered oil bypass the contaminated part. A reverse flow valve enables reverse flow through the filter head without having to back-flush the element. During element changes, a non-return valve stops the supply line from draining.


For strength and long-lasting performance, the filter head is made of spheroidal graphite cast iron, and the filter bowl is made of cold-drawn steel.
