This SKF feeler gauge is used to measure radial internal clearances when adjusting spherical roller bearings. These are often found in gearboxes and turbines. The gauge has 29 blades, each of a different thickness. The thinnest is just 0.05 mm, with the others increasing incrementally to 1 mm. They provide highly accurate readings and are marked with both imperial and metric scales. This tool is supplied with a steel cage to help protect the blades.

Use this feeler gauge when you need to adjust a spherical roller bearing and want to check the radial internal clearance.

How do I use this feeler gauge?

Rotate the roller cage assembly until the top is at 12 o'clock. Insert the thinnest blade between the highest spot on the rollers and the outer raceway. Move it back and forth in a sawing motion. If there's no resistance, move onto thicker blades until you feel resistance.
