This reliable lock module is rated to Performance Level ’e’, Cat 4, the highest safety level for interlocking and guard lock monitoring. For superb efficiency it is available with up to four controls, one of which can be an emergency stop push button. The operator can assign the function and colour of each push-button, allowing easy customisation for various applications.

What is a Solenoid Interlock Switch?

A solenoid interlock switch is a type of safety switch with an internal solenoid; a wire coil which converts electrical energy to mechanical. This type of interlock mechanism prevents access to hazardous areas where machinery is in motion by ensuring that that safety barriers remain securely locked. The guard can only be released through either energising (Power to unlock) or de-energising (Power to Lock) the solenoid with an external signal. They are often used in industrial environments, for example with high inertia rotating machines.
