It features a secure locking bolt drive mechanism that only locks when the correct actuator is detected. The locking bolt is continuously monitored for correct insertion within the actuator.

The switch has power to lock functionality; when power is applied to the solenoid the tongue is locked in the switch. When power is removed the lock is then released, and the tongue may be extracted from the switch. This decreases the risk of interruption and damage to the machine while it is still in motion, thereby minimising downtime and allowing you peace-of-mind. What is a Solenoid Interlock Switch?

A solenoid interlock switch is a type of safety switch with an internal solenoid; a wire coil which converts electrical energy to mechanical. This type of interlock mechanism prevents access to hazardous areas where machinery is in motion by ensuring that that safety barriers remain securely locked. The guard can only be released through either energising (Power to unlock) or de-energising (Power to Lock) the solenoid with an external signal.
