FAQ's
What is the difference between masking tape and duct tape?
Masking tape is for protecting and blocking off areas when painting and decorating, usually made of a thin and easy to tear the paper. The adhesive should be fairly easy to remove from most surfaces without leaving any damage or residue. The backing should also be thin and easily conform to uneven surfaces and shapes. Duct tape is for sealing air ducts and often coated with polyethene and is very strong, flexible and water resistant.

3M™ Performance Industrial Masking Tape 301E is designed for industrial paint masking applications. Its temperature performance allows air-drying and oven-curing of paint up to a maximum of 100 °C for 1 hour.
Why would I bake paint onto metal?
Performance masking tape for general purpose industrial paint masking applications for air drying and oven curing of paint and lacquer up to a maximum of 100 °C for 1 hour.
Baking paint onto metal reduces the curing time of the paint. This can cut the production time for an object from days to hours.
When should I remove the masking tape after a paint bake?
It's best to remove the tape as soon as the item you're painting has cooled to room temperature. This will reduce the risk of the paint cracking when you remove the tape.
