RS PRO Insert Lock Nut
The RS PRO nylon insert lock nut has M20 threads and is made from A4 316 stainless steel for excellent durability. It is a hex nut that has a captive nylon washer mounted in the top to create a prevailing torque type lock nut. The undersized washer forms a compression grip that binds on the threads of the mating fastener to resist loosening. Nylon insert lock nut generates a large amount of friction and heat during installation and so can present a galling problem. If this occurs it is recommended to slow down installation speed or consider a different locking mechanism.
