2080-LC50-STARTERPACKRS

This starter pack includes a Micro850 Programmable Logic Controller and additional components for the assembly of a smart, personalised machine control system designed to maximise productivity while reducing downtime and operational costs.

The Micro850 Programmable Logic Control device can easily handle larger stand-alone applications. This device provides fast, reliable embedded communications via USB programming port and RS-232/485. It includes extra communication connection options through an embedded 10/100 Base-T Ethernet port. It is also expandable up to a maximum of 132 digital I/O points to give you optimal control capabilities. It features built-in motion capabilities by supporting as many as three axes with Pulse Train Outputs (PTO).

Software:

The Micro850 PLC’s are easy to program and use Connected Components Workbench programming software, which is free to download. This software provides controller programming, device configuration and data sharing with the HMI editor for PanelView Component operator products. The software also supports three standard IEC programming languages: ladder diagram, function block diagram and structured text. Password protection is supported for all Micro800 programmable controllers, ensuring a higher level of security.

What is a PLC and how does it work?

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) are complex computers which automate control processes by using programs to communicate electronic signals to machines and devices. In simplified terms, they are usually comprised of three components: A CPU (Central Processing Unit), which is the brain or processor of the system, Inputs, and Outputs. An input module detects signals from things like switches, sensors, and buttons. This is processed by the CPU, which leads to an output relaying the CPU’s instructions to a machine or device. PLC system functions can be expanded by adding extra I/O modules. PLC systems are widely used in modern industrial automation for controlling machinery, in industries such as packaging, food and beverage production, pharmaceutical, and printing.
