SKF Bearing Withdrawal Sleeves - AOH 304

Use this hydraulic withdrawal sleeve from SKF to mount and dismount a bearing from the cylindrical seat of a stepped shaft. Simply push it into the bore of the bearing to reduce the clearance from the shaft and achieve a tight fit. The sleeve features a duct with G 1/4 thread for oil injection, which virtually eliminates friction and makes dismounting easy. It has a bore diameter of 220 mm, with a small taper to an outside diameter of 240 mm for easy fitting to standard equipment.

How do I mount a tapered bearing using a withdrawal sleeve?

Coat both mating surfaces with a thin layer of light oil then push the bearing onto the sleeve. Install the appropriate accessories, fittings and pipes and inject oil until the mating surfaces are separated by a thin film. Open the oil release valve to the pump used for injection and allow the oil to drain for at least 20 minutes.
