The highly tamper resistant Sipha interlock switch is designed specifically to operate with its actuator and cannot be defeated by a simple magnet. It features magnetically sensitive elements which must be activated in a specific sequence to operate correctly, ensuring greater reliability and security. It is ideal for use with sliding, hinge, and lift-off safety guards and gates. When the safety barrier is released the power is isolated, preventing dangerous machinery from running while personnel can access it and reducing risk of injury.

The control unit is used with a single sensor to ensure a high-integrity system in high-risk applications. The Sipha switch has facilities for connecting a manual reset button and monitoring external devices, such as contactors. For other applications, multiple sensors (including mechanical switches) can be connected to one Sipha control unit.

The 440N-S32014 Sipha safety switch has a supply voltage rating of 250V ac, 300V dc at 0.5A current, 1NC/1NO safety contacts (No auxiliary contacts), and comes with S1 housings and a 3m cable. It has an operating temperature range of -10°C to +55°C and a sensing distance of 5mm (Make) to 11mm (Break). It has an Ingress Protection rating of IP67 (NEMA 6P), which makes it highly suitable for use in wet environments.
