RS PRO Silver Steel Rod, 1 m x 10 mm OD

Fully compliant with BS1407 (silver steel composition standards), these versatile metal rods are made of silver steel and are ideally suited for making your own tooling parts. The rods are available in lengths of 1 metre, with an outside diameter of 10 mm.

An excellent choice for making gauges, punches and pinions, silver steel combines the aesthetically pleasing shine from its high chrome content with noticeable toughness from large amounts of carbon. The steel rods are ground to a very close tolerance, so they're perfect for applications that depend on accuracy.

As with all of our RS PRO range, these metal rods are thoroughly tested to meet our exacting standards of quality and consistency. You will commonly find rods like these used in engineering environments, for example as dowels, spindles and shafts.
