RS Pro Schuko Plug to IEC C5 Power Cord

From RS Pro a high quality and durable power cable assembly or power cord for connecting an appliance to a mains power supply. This power cord is fully equipped with a Schuko 2-pin mains plug on one end and an IEC C5 type connector on the other that connects to the appliance. What is a Schuko plug?

This cable assembly is terminated one end with a Schuko plug which is one of the primary European AC plug types. The Schuko plug types have 2 pins and are commonly used in european countries such as Switzerland, Denmark, Italy and Germany. Although uncommon on UK appliances and machines, the Schuko can still be a common occurrence, especially with items such as shavers and chargers.

What is an IEC C5 Connector?

The other end of the power cord is terminated with a fully moulded IEC C5 connector which is used to connect the power cord to an appliance which has a C6 inlet. This type of connector has a 2.5 A current rating and is also known as a Clover-leaf or Mickey Mouse connector due to its shape!. IEC connectors conform to IEC-60320 specifications laid down by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) to ensure the connectors meet common global design standards
