Evaluation Board for HV Current Shunt Monitor AD8212

An evaluation board for Current Monitoring with only 0.2% error in the presence of a 500V Common-Mode-Voltage, utilising the Analog Devices AD8212 Current Shunt Monitor IC. This circuit is one of the Analog Devices Circuits from the Lab™ series of reference circuits.

The Evaluation Board contains the following ICs:

ADuM5402 Quad-Channel Isolator with Integrated DC-to-DC Converter
AD7171 16-Bit Low Power Sigma-Delta ADC
AD8605 Precision CMOS Rail-to-Rail Input/Output Op-Amp
ADR381 2.5V High Accuracy Band Gap Voltage Reference

Note

An external shunt resistor with maximum voltage drop of 500 mV at maximum load current is required.

Current Sensing Amplifiers have a voltage output that is proportional to the volt drop across a very low value resistor, usually in a high-current power rail. Hence they measure the current flowing in that power rail.
