Why would I need a time-delay fuse?

Some applications need a high initial inrush current to start, then run with lower power requirements during normal operation. This type of surge causes a standard fast-acting fuse to blow at start-up. A time-delay fuse allows limited current surges to pass through the circuit while still delivering protection against short circuits and sustained overloads. This allows you to use a fuse sized much closerto your full-load current.
