What are true-RMS measurements?

RMS stands for root-mean-square. In short, true-RMS meters use mathematical equations to measure both nonsinusoidal and pure sinusoidal waves. This gives a much more accurate reading of AC voltage or current signals than conventional digital measuring tools.
